Inspired by the bustling food culture and piazzas of Rome, Roma celebrates Italian cuisine and South Australia’s Mediterranean climate by creating an alfresco dining precinct like no other.
Located between Waymouth St, Franklin St and King William St, and adjacent to the new Marriott Hotel, Roma offers a casual restaurant, deli and piazza.
Opening this month, Roma’s restaurant will serve up a Modern Italian menu designed to be fun, relaxing, not overly traditional and perfect for every occasion.
A menu where flavour and fun come first! The Modern Italian menu will include some Roman classics including, of course, spaghetti carbonara which, after much testing, owners Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis say is just as good as the best trattorias in Rome.
The menu also features fun twists on other classic Roman dishes, plus a few dishes that fuse Italian flavours and Australian classics.
Roma’s wine list is also inspired by the small restaurants of Rome. It’s tight, thoughtful and balanced.
Affordability has been a major consideration throughout development and the menu heroes Italian grape varieties from Australia and Italy.
Comprising of a modern Italian restaurant, a deli providing takeaway lunches and all-day snacks, and a piazza providing refreshing cocktails and the same wine list as the restaurant, Roma has something for all.
When asked what we will see on the deli menu, Callum says, “Roman thick crust pizza. Themis and I are both massive Gabriele Bonci fans, so this was an easy decision. Plus fresh made salads, house made pastries, cheese, cured meats and a range of Italian condiments and snacks. All items that you can take away for lunch or enjoy in the piazza in the evening on a warm balmy night”
