Since opening in 2014, Luigi’s Delicatessen has become a household name across Adelaide’s dining scene.

Now in its tenth year, this award-winning venue is celebrating its long-standing success and fame as one of the city’s most loved Italian restaurants.

Homed at Franklin Street in the heart of the CBD, Luigi’s has become a staple venue for the coming together of good food, wine, family and the warmth of exceptional Italian hospitality.

Born in Naples, Luigi Di Costanzo is the namesake and mastermind behind the restaurant, of which attributes its success to the teachings of Di Costanzo’s beloved mamma.

Immigrating to Australia with food, wine and family in his blood, Di Costanzo and his mamma opened the doors to Luigi’s whole-heartedly in 2014 – both eager to embrace the 5am starts curating traditional meatballs, lasagna, parmigiana, sauces and soups.

Three years from opening, Di Constanzo’s beloved mamma passed away, but her presence continues on within the soul of this revered restaurant.

Cooking ‘as mamma would have’, Luigi’s prides itself on having no fixed menu, with dishes prepared according to what’s in season, bringing life to the legacy.

Home-made pasta, fresh seafood, classic meat dishes and a selection of dietary options frequent the selection, with lavish serving boards a signature feature in their presentation.

Whilst breakfast and lunch are a six-day offering (closed Sundays), Thursday, Friday and Saturday night’s see the venue morph from breakfast through to eclectic evenings of live music, signature cocktails and a wholesome dinner menu.

Thoughtful in every aspect of his presentation of flavoursome fare, Di Costanzo’s vision of bringing friends and loved ones together, and in turn honouring his mamma, has been achieved in this wonderful and welcoming venue.
